From Sensorica' practice, creating linkages between communities and networks that are more formal, permanent, with little input from agents that form these communities and networks. The idea is to establish some types of flows between organizations, to form networks-of-networks. Formal bridges are created organically, using various methods, which depend on what type of flows need to be established, the type of relationship (complementarity or synergy) that needs to be established or the type of opportunities the organizations that are involved want to capture.

Systemic Linking

Systemic links are created any time that a system uses inputs from and/or creates outputs to other systems or elements. Each system is a network of processes which are sufficiently insulated from other forces to stabilize their predictability. Systemic links can be created or exaggerated by design and control systems, including precisely-defined interfaces, but they often represent multidimensionally-nuanced relationships of dependence or interdependence which can emerge in relationships which involve little or no design or control.

Systemic links often create positive or negative feedback loops under specific conditions; such loops often define systemic regulatory functions and the very traits of (i.e. typical processes performed by) the system.

Systemic levels are often separated from each other, and from other forces, by specific forms (or forces) which create security-- often through: resistance to potentially harmful forces; for example, a layer of insulation barriers (including selectively permeable membranes.)

Systematic Networking

Systematic networking can include any of the above grouping and linking techniques, and directly identifies one or more systems, and its key components, which perform clearly identified processes under specific conditions (such as the introduction of catalytic inputs). Systemic processes may include any important processes which support or sustain the system(s), including repair processes. Systematic networking should indicate any crucially relevant systemic links, regardless of whether levels of design do or don’t occur.

Systematic networking often identifies interfaces, channels and frameworks, as well as less-specialized (and, often, implicitly assumed) mediums which create functional links between components. See Examples.
