Signalling system

Signalling is the process through which information about processes or the environment is passed to agents. Signals can be passed directly from one agent to others, or through some intermediary, which can also be the environment.

Signalling is very important in stigmergy.

Notification

Notification is a more time dependent type of signalling. It is about bringing to the attention to some actors that something has happened.

In relation to OVNi and the NRP-CAS, sends notifications to network affiliates when an event deemed important occurs.
