Sensorica is the first open value network (OVN), first serious attempt to implement a viable model for material peer production. The OVN model was developed within the Sensorica organizational context, by Sensorica affiliates conducting real open source hardware development projects.

The logo was created by Ivan Pavlov, one of the co-foinders of Sensorica. Ivan also created other graphics and logos for the network's first projects.

Mission

Sensorica OVN is committed to the design and deployment of intelligent, open sensors and sensemaking systems, which allow our communities to optimize interactions with our physical environment and realize our full human potential.

History

Sensorica went online in February 2011, on a simple Google site. The network was sparked by 3 co-founders: Tibi, Francois Bergeron and Ivan Pavlov. Sensorica and its OVN model was the successor of Tibi's Discovery Network model, which was implemented for a collaborative venture spearheaded by Tibi, called Matchmaking device, between 2009 and 2011.

Sensorica's Custodian was ACES-CAKE between 2014 and 2023.

Tibi blogged regularly during the formation of Sensorica, you can follow the early development here.
