Consensus

Decision making process, part of Governance.

The consensus process usually is prescribed with a threshold. This process was used in the #occupy movement.

Praxis

Within Sensorica, Loomio (a tool) was used to build consensus. This consists of a discussion section where those involved formulate opinions and arguments with the goal of bridging views and crafting a text that describes a course of action that satisfies the great majority. The consensus building process is then followed by a lazy democracy process to officialize the course of action. The consensus building process can spill over other discussion channels, if the issue is of great importance, and those involved will conduct an outreach campaign to inform all affiliates and pull them into the process.
