The labonline network is a network of open collaborative spaces, hackerspaces or fablabs supported by an information infrastructure to allow real-time remote collaboration.

A labonline is a physical lab containing instruments/equipment that can send data over the Internet in real time and can provide remote access to control instruments. This enables individuals (a team of experts with different skills) from different parts of the world to share experiences in real time.

Example for Sensorica

Sensorica experimented with this concept in 2012, as you can see in this video. This was way before Zoom.

See also the Sensorica open labonline.

A webcam is used to provide access to the lab environment. Webcams are also used with microscopes to provide access to samples.

We are experimenting with Google Hangout and Skype for real time communication.

We are experimenting with Logmein and share desktop and to give access to instruments and processes.
