A loosely coordinated group of individuals or agents based on some shared interest. Ex. The Bitcoin network or the network of a editors of Wikipedia. This is to be contrasted with community, which requires shared identity, rich relationships, sense of belinging, etc.
In communities people go out and drink beer together. In networks people can be anonymous.
